Steps For Entry Into The Program

To make things easy, we have spelled out the steps you will need to take make your Big Bend Aviation experience go as smoothly as possible. Don't worry, while this may look like a long list, our staff will be there to guide you every step of the way.

Apply for admission

Complete a Big Bend Community College Application For Admission and submit it to the Cashier's Office, Bldg. 1400, Second Floor, with the $30.00 application fee. Application forms are available at the Admissions/Registration Office, Bldg. 1400, First Floor, on our website at www.bigbend.edu  or by calling (509)793-2061.

Send us transcripts

If you have college credits from a former school you should have your official transcript sent to the Admissions/Registration Office, BBCC, 7662 Chanute Street, Moses Lake WA 98837. Most schools require your signature and a fee for official transcripts. Check the school's website or call them to find out their procedures.

Take the placement exams

Math and English placement exams are administered nearly every Friday beginning at 8:00am in the Math Lab, Bldg. 1200. The cost is $10.00 and must be paid in advance at the Cashier's Office, Bldg. 1400, Second Floor. You will need to have your receipt of payment, picture identification, and your social security number or student id number if you've already been admitted. A placement exam time schedule will be mailed with your admission letter and may also be found in the quarterly class schedule.

Get financial aid information

Financial aid forms are available from the Financial Aid Office, Bldg. 1400, First Floor or call them at (509)793-2033. Scholarship information is also available from the Financial Aid Office staff.

Attend an orientation

New student orientations are held before most quarters. Once you have been admitted to the college you will receive information about orientation. At an orientation session you will learn important information about BBCC, receive academic advising and be allowed to register for classes.

Advising

Your admission letter will contain the name of the BBCC staff member assigned as your advisor. If you miss the orientation session, you should contact your advisor to obtain advice on which classes to enroll in during your first term at BBCC.

Register for classes

If you attend an orientation session you will register for classes at that time. If you do not attend orientation, you will register according to the times listed in the quarterly class schedule. Class schedules are mailed to all area households about six weeks before the quarter begins. Schedules are also available from the Admissions/Registration Office, call 793-2061.

Pay tuition and fees

Your tuition payment will be due before the quarter begins. The class schedule will indicate the tuition payment due date. Tuition must be paid in full by the due date or you will be dropped from your classes and will have to begin the registration process again. Financial aid awards are normally posted to your account on or before the tuition due date. Tuition may be paid by cash, check or credit card (VISA & MasterCard). If paying by credit card you may pay online at www.bigbend.edu . Click on Student Info Kiosk and then select "Pay by Credit Card".
